Crew Dispatch
Survey crew dispatch software for the morning send-out and every change after it.
Set tomorrow's crews tonight with the equipment, files, and notes they need. Crew chiefs see the day on their phone before they leave the yard, get a notice when it changes, and send their hours back against the same job.
No credit card required.
Dispatch should not be a 6 a.m. phone tree.
The coordinator calls four crew chiefs. One does not pick up. Another heads to yesterday's site because nobody told him the topo moved. The rover he needs is in someone else's truck. By the time it is sorted out, the crew has burned an hour of billable daylight sitting in the yard.
The dispatch day, start to finish.
The night before: set the day
Open the board on a single day, one row per person. Give each job a crew chief, crew, start and end times, the equipment it needs, the project files, notes, and a checklist. A Google Map of the jobs already scheduled that day shows what is nearby, so one crew takes the cluster.
Before you save: catch the conflict
Kudurru Stone warns you if a crew member is already on another open job that day, if the rover is already out, or if someone has approved time off. It warns rather than blocks, so you make the call.
Morning: out the door
Crew chiefs open the app and see today's work with the job details, even where the signal drops. Some crews want paper on the dash, so print the day from the board. Put the board on the office monitor full screen so everyone walking by sees it.
Mid-day: handle the change
The client is not ready, or the weather turns. Drag the assignment to another person or day, or edit it, and the crew on it gets an in-app notice of the change, plus an email if they turn it on. Lock the jobs that must not move.
End of day: get the results back
Crews mark the work complete and log their hours against the same assignment from the field. The board shows planned hours next to actual hours, so tomorrow's dispatch starts from what really happened today.
What survey dispatch needs that a generic dispatch app misses.
Field service dispatch tools are built for a technician, a van, and a two-hour appointment window. Survey crews work as a chief and crew, carry shared instruments, and stay on one job for days.

It is the tool a survey firm uses to send each field crew to the right job each day, with what they need to do the work, and to handle the changes once the day starts. For a survey firm that means a crew chief and crew, a job location, the right instruments, the project files, and a way to tell the crew when the plan moves.
In the Kudurru Stone app for iPhone and Android, which shows today's work and the upcoming schedule with job details and keeps working offline, or in any web browser. They also get an in-app notification when they are assigned or their assignment changes, plus an email if they turn it on.
Yes. When you schedule a job, Kudurru Stone shows a Google Map of everything already scheduled that day, so you can hand nearby work to the same crew. The Scheduler Map plots a date range by employee, with project polygons and KML/KMZ files.
No. The map shows where the scheduled jobs are and who is assigned to each. It is job-location planning, not live vehicle tracking.
Drag the assignment to another person or another day, or edit it. The crew members on it get an in-app notification of the change. If the change would double-book a person or a piece of equipment, Kudurru Stone warns you before you save.
Yes. Crews mark their scheduled work complete and log their hours against the same assignment from the field. The office sees planned hours next to actual hours on the board. Crews cannot move or delete scheduled work; that stays with the office.
Yes. Attach the equipment a job needs to the assignment, and Kudurru Stone warns you if that equipment is already booked on another open job that day.
Scheduling is planning the weeks ahead: who works which job on which days. Dispatch is the day itself: sending crews out with what they need, handling the changes, and getting the results back. Kudurru Stone does both on the same schedule, so the plan and the day never drift apart.
